Heading into Labor Day weekend, Week 2 should provide another exciting weekend for high school football in Northern Kentucky. The only NKY team not to play yet is Conner, and they will begin their 2007 season against Johnson Central in the Touchstone Energy Bowl.
Lloyd will visit Beechwood as Mike Yeagle, former coach of Beechwood, will face a very tough Tiger team. Beechwood rallied for 14 unanswered points in the last quarter versus Dixie last week enroute to a 21-17 win. (NKY.com BROADCAST)
On Saturday afternoon, the Thoroughbreds of Newport Central Catholic will travel to Covington to play the Covington Catholic Colonels. NewCath thrashed Simon Kenton last week 43-6 and CovCath lost 34-7 to LaSalle. (CovCath Radio BROADCAST)
On Sunday, Highlands will face off against Trotwood Madison. Highlands won big last week over Ryle 49-21 but will have their hands full this weekend against a very good Trotwood team.
